It's such a fun project, and it's nice to extend the learning beyond just the paint blob, to see if they can create symmetry on PURPOSE - not just from the paint squishing :)Christyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05980191068077264122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3997036301964326074.post-60848009483968132892013-06-07T19:24:13.517-07:002013-06-07T19:24:13.517-07:00Christy, I like your approach. I find if one adds some drama (as opposed to the melodrama we sometimes experience) it really grabs their attention. Kudos to you to do this with 24 children!<br />Susan Boxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00983235235513142924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3997036301964326074.post-50895296072084723962013-01-14T07:47:39.777-08:002013-01-14T07:47:39.777-08:00I have the kids fold their paper and put their nam...I have the kids fold their paper and put their name on it before we even get started - then I go around and squirt a blob of yellow on each paper - then we all fold and 'squish' at the same time - then we all open at the same time, and talk about what it looks like - and then I go around with blue, then red... it takes a lot of patience on the kids' part as I go around with the paint, but I really build up the suspense, and we talk about what we think what might happen, so it has worked really well for me! my numbers are more like 24 at a time. If you have a helper, they could squirt paint, too - or have kids put a spoon-ful of paint on their papers. it really helps having a nice blob of paint, which can be hard with a brush. If there is time at the end, we do an 'art walk' and go around the room to see everyone's work - it's really fun!Christyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05980191068077264122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3997036301964326074.post-79617967347667498032013-01-12T08:02:53.426-08:002013-01-12T08:02:53.426-08:00Hi there! How do you put out the primary colors and what tools are the kids using to put the paint on the paper? I have 30 plus Kids at a time. Thanks.
